Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the NineWays mobile application and related services ("Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are

2. Important Notice: Not Therapy
NineWays is a self-help tool for couples. It is not therapy, counseling, medical advice, mental health treatment, or a substitute for professional help.
The Enneagram-based content, daily insights, repair-mode suggestions, and AI-generated guidance in the Service are for educational and reflective purposes only. They are not clinical recommendations.
If you or your partner are experiencing a mental health crisis, abuse, domestic violence, or thoughts of self-harm, please contact a qualified professional or local emergency services. In Poland, the helpline is 116 123 (free, 24/7).
We strongly recommend consulting a licensed couples therapist if your relationship involves abuse, addiction, untreated mental illness, or persistent distress that an app cannot address.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We may terminate accounts of users we discover are under 18.
4. Your Account
To use the Service, you create an account with an email address and password.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it current.
- You may not share your account with anyone other than your partner connection (which has its own designated mechanism in the app: the invite code).

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes all your data within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Partnership Connections
The Service lets you connect with one partner using an invite code. When connected:
- Both partners can view each other's first name, Enneagram type, and shared content (joint check-ins, partnership-level insights, joint challenges).
- Each of you can disconnect from the partnership at any time from the Partner tab.
- Disconnecting does not delete either of your individual accounts.
- If both of you delete your accounts, all partnership data is removed.
You are responsible for ensuring your partner consents to the connection. Do not invite anyone who has not agreed to use the Service.
6. Subscription (NineWays Premium)
The Service offers a free tier with basic features and a paid tier called NineWays Premium with extended features.
- Premium subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple is the merchant of record.
- Pricing, billing, and renewal are governed by Apple's terms and the App Store's Standard EULA.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or in the App Store app under your profile.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- When your subscription is active, both you and your connected partner have access to Premium features. We do not require separate subscriptions per partner.
If your subscription expires or is cancelled, you retain access to the free tier. Your account and historical data are preserved.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Submit content that is harassing, threatening, defamatory, or that encourages violence or abuse.
- Attempt to impersonate another person, including your "partner" if they have not actually consented to the partnership.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by Polish law (Article 75 of the Polish Copyright Act).
- Attempt to bypass authentication, access other users' data, or interfere with the Service's normal operation.
- Use automated tools (scrapers, bots) to access or modify the Service.
- Share, resell, or commercially redistribute the Service or any of its content.
- Submit content that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights.
If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account.
8. Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (check-ins, journal entries, challenge responses, repair-mode descriptions, profile photo).
By submitting content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and process it solely as needed to provide the Service to you and your connected partner. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content for marketing, advertising, or AI model training.
You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to submit, anything illegal, or anything that violates someone else's privacy.
9. AI-Generated Guidance (Repair Mode)
NineWays' Repair Mode uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate personalized guidance based on the trigger and context you provide. Important caveats:
- AI-generated content can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable for your situation. Use your judgment.
- The Service is not a substitute for professional counseling, therapy, or crisis support (see Section 2).
- The AI does not "know" your relationship; it works only with the information you provide in each session.
- We send your trigger description, both first names, and both Enneagram types to Anthropic's API. We do not send your email, password, full name, or other identifying details. See our Privacy Policy for details.
By using Repair Mode, you acknowledge these limitations.
10. Service Availability
We do our best to keep the Service running smoothly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" and may be subject to:
- Scheduled maintenance.
- Outages due to third-party providers (Render, Apple, Cloudflare, Anthropic).
- Bugs and errors that we work to fix as we discover them.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice when feasible. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and provide a way to export your data.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account is inactive for an extended period, or if we are required to do so by law. We will notify you by email when feasible, and you may appeal by contacting ….
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific needs, be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that the AI-generated content in Repair Mode will be accurate or appropriate for your situation.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither NineWays nor its operator will be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, or 50 EUR, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any liability that cannot be excluded under Polish or applicable EU law.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Poland. Any disputes will be resolved by the courts competent for the place of residence of the operator, except where mandatory consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence (EU consumers).
If you are a consumer in the EU, you also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
15. Apple's Standard EULA
When you download the Service from the App Store, you also agree to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies as a separate contract between you and Apple. 16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app (in-app notice) or via email. Minor changes (clarifications, formatting) will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
If you continue to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
